How to Use

  • Drill out the damaged thread using the supplied Ø12.4mm HSS drill bit.
  • Tap the drilled hole using the supplied STI M12 x 1.75 HSS tap. Use cutting fluid and keep the tap straight.
  • Clean the newly tapped hole thoroughly to remove swarf, oil residue and loose material.
  • Fit the stainless steel insert onto the installation tool and wind it into the tapped hole until it sits correctly below or level with the surface as required.
  • Use the supplied break tool to break off the insert tang.
  • Check the repaired thread by carefully fitting the correct M12 x 1.75mm bolt by hand before final assembly.
