Festool MFS-VP 200 Extension Profile Set

At a Glance: Two 200mm extension profiles with millimetre scales and longitudinal connectors for expanding Festool MFS 400 and MFS 700 multi-routing templates.

Expand the working range of your Festool multi-routing template with the Festool MFS-VP 200 Extension Profile Set. The two precision-manufactured 200mm aluminium profiles connect to compatible MFS 400 and MFS 700 templates, allowing larger cut-outs, wider routing frames and increased routing radii to be created. Clearly marked millimetre scales support accurate setup and repeatable positioning, while the supplied longitudinal connectors and slot nuts make joining the profiles quick and straightforward. Integrated grooves accept compatible Festool fastening clamps and lever clamps, helping secure the completed template firmly to the workpiece. Front positioning bolts assist with exact alignment, and the profiles can also provide additional support when securing a Festool APS worktop template.

Extend the Festool MFS routing template system by 200mm

The MFS-VP 200 profiles connect directly to compatible MFS template sections, allowing the routing frame to be enlarged for workpieces and cut-outs that exceed the standard template capacity. The modular construction lets professionals adapt the system to each project instead of manufacturing a separate template.

Product Highlights

  • Extends compatible MFS templates: Increases the working range of the Festool MFS 400 and MFS 700.
  • Two 200mm profiles: Provides additional length for larger routing frames, radii and cut-outs.
  • Millimetre scale: Integrated markings support accurate adjustment and repeatable routing dimensions.
  • Simple profile connection: Supplied longitudinal connectors and slot nuts make assembly quick and precise.
  • Front positioning bolts: Assist with exact placement and alignment on the workpiece.
  • Integrated clamping grooves: Accept compatible Festool fastening clamps and lever clamps.
  • Modular construction: Can be combined with additional MFS profiles to create project-specific routing templates.
  • Useful with APS templates: Provides additional support when securing compatible Festool worktop templates.

Extra Information

  • The MFS-VP 200 set contains two 200mm extension profiles.
  • The profiles are intended for extending Festool MFS 400 and MFS 700 multi-routing templates.
  • Each profile includes an integrated scale marked in millimetres.
  • The supplied longitudinal connectors join the extension profiles to compatible MFS profile sections.
  • Festool fastening clamps and lever clamps can be inserted into the available profile grooves.
  • Front bolts assist with exact positioning of the assembled template.
  • Multiple compatible profiles can be combined to produce larger custom routing-template dimensions.
  • The profiles are also suitable for improving the support and securing of a compatible APS worktop template.
  • The MFS routing template, router, router cutter, copying ring, clamps and APS worktop template are not included.

Pro Tips

  • Extend opposite sides of the MFS frame equally when maintaining a centred and symmetrical routing opening.
  • Use the millimetre scales for initial positioning, then verify the internal opening with a separate measuring tool before routing.
  • Tighten the longitudinal connectors gradually while checking that adjoining profiles remain square and flush.
  • Measure the actual copying-ring and router-cutter offset when setting the template size for a finished cut-out.
  • Clamp the assembled routing template at several points to prevent movement during long routing passes.
  • Make shallow progressive passes when removing substantial material from thick workpieces.
  • Carry out a test routing operation on scrap material when preparing a critical finished component.
  • Keep the profile grooves and connector surfaces free from chips so that sections join and align correctly.

How to Use

  • Place the MFS template and extension profiles on a clean, stable working surface.
  • Determine the required finished routing dimensions and calculate the necessary template opening.
  • Loosen the relevant connecting components on the MFS 400 or MFS 700 template.
  • Insert the supplied longitudinal connectors into the profile grooves.
  • Slide one MFS-VP 200 extension profile onto the corresponding connector.
  • Fit the second extension profile to the opposite or required side of the template.
  • Adjust the profiles using the integrated millimetre scales.
  • Check that all profile corners and joints are aligned correctly and remain square.
  • Tighten the connector screws using the supplied WAF 2.5 screwdriver.
  • Position the completed routing template on the workpiece using the front bolts where appropriate.
  • Insert compatible Festool clamps into the profile grooves and secure the template firmly.
  • Fit the appropriate copying ring and router cutter to the router.
  • Confirm the routing depth and template offset before switching on the machine.
  • Guide the router steadily around the internal template edges using progressive passes where required.
  • Wait for the router cutter to stop completely before lifting the machine or loosening the template.
  • After use, clean the profiles, grooves and joining components before storage.

Features

  • 200mm profile length: Each supplied profile adds a compact extension section to the compatible routing-template system.
  • Two-profile set: Allows corresponding sides of the routing frame to be extended evenly.
  • Integrated measuring scale: Millimetre markings make the required template dimensions easier to set accurately.
  • Longitudinal connectors: Join the extension profiles securely to existing MFS sections.
  • Slot-nut connection: Supports straightforward assembly and adjustment without manufacturing special joining components.
  • Profile clamping grooves: Allow compatible Festool clamps to be inserted for secure workpiece attachment.
  • Front positioning bolts: Provide defined contact points for accurate template positioning.
  • Modular MFS compatibility: Designed specifically for the Festool MFS 400 and MFS 700 multi-routing templates.

Benefits

  • Larger routing capacity: Produce cut-outs and routed shapes beyond the standard dimensions of the base MFS template.
  • Accurate adjustment: The integrated scales reduce measuring time and assist with repeatable setup.
  • Faster template preparation: Profiles connect quickly using the supplied joining components.
  • Flexible project setup: The modular design allows the template size to be adapted to different workpieces and routing requirements.
  • Secure workpiece positioning: Compatible clamps can be inserted directly into the profile grooves.
  • Reduced template manufacturing: Reusable profiles eliminate the need to build a separate disposable routing template for every job.
  • Improved worktop-template support: The extension profiles can assist with stabilising compatible APS worktop templates.
  • Festool system integration: Works as part of the established MFS multi-routing template system.

Application

  • Extending Festool MFS 400 multi-routing templates.
  • Extending Festool MFS 700 multi-routing templates.
  • Routing larger rectangular and square cut-outs.
  • Producing larger routing radii.
  • Creating project-specific routing frames.
  • Routing openings in panels, furniture components and worktops.
  • Providing additional support for Festool APS worktop templates.
  • Cabinetmaking, joinery, shopfitting and interior installation.

Safety

  • Disconnect the router from the mains supply or remove its battery before installing cutters, copying rings or making adjustments.
  • Wear suitable eye, hearing and respiratory protection during routing.
  • Inspect the extension profiles, connectors and fastening components before use.
  • Do not use profiles or connectors that are bent, cracked or otherwise damaged.
  • Confirm that every profile connection is tightened securely before routing.
  • Clamp the completed routing template firmly to the workpiece so that it cannot shift.
  • Secure and support the workpiece on a stable surface.
  • Check the routing path for screws, nails, cables, pipes and other hidden obstructions.
  • Ensure the selected copying ring and cutter are suitable for the template and application.
  • Keep both hands on the designated router handles and away from the rotating cutter.
  • Allow the router cutter to reach full operating speed before entering the workpiece.
  • Use several shallow passes instead of forcing the cutter through excessive material in one pass.
  • Wait for the cutter to stop completely before removing the router or loosening the template.
  • Follow all operating and safety instructions supplied with the MFS system, router, cutter and dust extractor.
