Festool ST Sliding Table

At a Glance: Precision sliding table with four smooth-running rollers and a maximum crosscut working width of 830mm for accurate, controlled workpiece guidance.

Expand the capacity and precision of your Festool workstation with the Festool ST Sliding Table. Designed for the Festool PRECISIO CS 50, CMS-GE and MFT 3-VL, this professional accessory provides a smooth-moving support surface for guiding larger workpieces and strips through accurate crosscuts. The sliding carriage runs on four plastic rollers along a dedicated guide rail, helping prevent the workpiece from tilting, binding or jamming as it moves past the saw blade. When combined with the preset profile setting rail of the CS 50, the sliding table supports precise right-angle cuts as well as accurately set angled cuts. It also creates an additional bearing surface on the left-hand side of the machine, providing improved support and control for longer or wider components. Once correctly adjusted, the sliding table can be attached and removed quickly while returning accurately to its established position.

Smooth and accurate workpiece guidance for crosscutting

The Festool ST transforms the compatible workstation into a more capable crosscutting system. Instead of pushing an unsupported workpiece directly across the saw table, the material rests on the sliding carriage and moves smoothly with it, helping produce controlled, straight cuts with a clean sawn edge.

Extra Information

  • The Festool ST is suitable for the CS 50, CMS-GE and MFT 3-VL.
  • The sliding table is installed on the left-hand side of the compatible machine or workstation.
  • It consists primarily of a dedicated guide rail and a sliding carriage running on four rollers.
  • The maximum working width for trimming and crosscuts is 830mm.
  • The associated CS 50 preset profile setting rail is required for accurately positioning workpieces at right angles or other selected angles.
  • The compatible WRA 500 fence can be mounted in the groove around the outside of the sliding carriage.
  • For routing work, the sliding table can be used with a suitable router stop to guide the workpiece.
  • The carriage can be locked onto the guide rail for storage or transportation.
  • The saw, CMS module, MFT 3-VL, profile setting rail and router stop are not included unless specifically stated otherwise.

Pro Tips

  • Spend time aligning the carriage accurately during the initial installation, as correct setup allows it to be removed and refitted without repeated recalibration.
  • Use a reliable straightedge across the carriage and saw table when checking that both surfaces are parallel.
  • Set the sliding-table surface approximately 1mm above the adjacent saw table where specified by the Festool installation instructions.
  • Keep the guide rail and all four rollers clean and free from sawdust, resin and chips to maintain smooth movement.
  • Support the outer end of particularly long or heavy workpieces so excessive leverage is not applied to the sliding table.
  • Clamp or hold irregularly shaped workpieces securely before moving the carriage towards the blade.
  • Lock the sliding carriage to the guide rail before transporting or storing the workstation.
  • Make a test cut after installing or readjusting the table to verify that the fence and cutting line are square.

How to Use

  • Disconnect the compatible saw or workstation-mounted power tool from its power supply.
  • Insert the mounting holders into the designated outer recesses of the CS 50 or CMS-GE base frame.
  • Position the holders correctly with their projections facing outwards and engage them securely in the frame groove.
  • Insert the sliding-table guide rail into the left-hand table groove at an angle from above.
  • Lower the guide rail until the mounting pins engage with the selected guide-rail holes.
  • Choose the required front- or rear-projecting guide-rail position and tighten both rotary knobs.
  • Slide the carriage onto the guide rail from the side so that all four rollers engage correctly.
  • Install the end stops at both ends of the guide-rail groove.
  • Adjust the carriage height until it aligns correctly with the adjacent table surface.
  • Use a straightedge to check that the carriage support surface is parallel with the saw table.
  • Fit and adjust the compatible profile setting rail or fence for the required cutting angle.
  • Place the workpiece securely against the fence and support any overhanging material.
  • Start the saw and allow the blade to reach full operating speed.
  • Guide the carriage and workpiece smoothly forwards through the cut without twisting or forcing the material.
  • Move the carriage clear of the blade and wait for the blade to stop completely before removing offcuts.
  • After use, clean the rail and rollers and lock the carriage to the rail for transportation where required.

Features

  • Dedicated guide rail: Mounts to the left-hand side of the compatible workstation and guides the sliding carriage.
  • Roller-mounted carriage: Four plastic rollers provide smooth, controlled movement along the guide rail.
  • 830mm maximum working width: Accommodates a broad range of trimming and crosscutting applications.
  • Peripheral accessory groove: Accepts the compatible WRA 500 fence for controlled workpiece positioning.
  • Transport locking function: The sliding carriage can be clamped onto the guide rail using the integrated rotary knob.
  • Two mounting positions: The guide rail can be positioned with its projection towards the front or rear to suit the setup.
  • Height adjustment: Allows the sliding carriage to be aligned correctly with the adjacent saw or workstation surface.
  • Parallelism adjustment: The carriage support surface can be adjusted parallel with the table surface.
  • Removable design: Can be detached when not required and refitted without losing the correctly established setup.

Benefits

  • More accurate crosscuts: The workpiece travels along a defined path instead of relying entirely on freehand guidance.
  • Improved cutting quality: Stable, controlled movement helps produce straight cuts and cleaner sawn edges.
  • Safer workpiece handling: The carriage supports the material and helps reduce unwanted tilting or binding near the blade.
  • Greater capacity: Provides a practical solution for shortening larger workpieces and long strips.
  • Reduced physical effort: Smooth rollers allow the workpiece to be guided through the cut with less resistance.
  • Better material support: The additional bearing surface helps stabilise components that extend beyond the standard table.
  • Repeatable production work: Compatible stops and profile fences allow multiple components to be cut to matching dimensions and angles.
  • Versatile workstation expansion: Suitable for both sawing and selected routing applications with the correct accessories.
