Festool DC UNI FF FastFix Adjustable Depth Stop
At a Glance: FastFix depth stop with 0.1mm adjustment increments and interchangeable 17mm and 23mm protective stop sleeves.
Achieve fast, repeatable and professional screwdriving results with the Festool DC UNI FF adjustable depth stop. Designed for Festool drills and cordless drills equipped with the FastFix interface, this versatile attachment allows screws to be driven to a precisely defined depth without repeatedly checking each fixing by hand. The screw head can be positioned flush with the surface, recessed into the material or left projecting by a controlled amount. An integrated claw coupling disengages the drive when the selected depth is reached, helping ensure uniform results across large-scale screwdriving applications. Two replaceable stop sleeves with rubberised protective rings are included, making the attachment particularly suitable for façade work, decking and screws fitted with sealing washers where both consistent depth and protection of the surrounding surface are essential.
The DC UNI FF combines fine 0.1mm depth adjustment with Festool&s quick-change FastFix system. Once the required setting has been established, screws can be installed rapidly and consistently while the rubberised stop sleeve rests securely against the workpiece without slipping or leaving unwanted impressions.
Product Highlights
- Precisely controlled screw depth: Allows screw heads to be positioned flush, countersunk or projecting from the workpiece as required.
- Fine 0.1mm adjustment: Each positive adjustment step changes the screwdriving depth by 0.1mm for accurate setup.
- Integrated claw coupling: Helps maintain the selected screw depth consistently during repetitive screwdriving.
- FastFix connection: Attaches quickly and securely to compatible Festool drills and cordless drills.
- Protects finished surfaces: Rubberised rings on the stop sleeves provide non-slip contact while helping prevent impressions and scratches.
- Two replaceable sleeves: Supplied with 17mm and 23mm stop sleeves for different screw heads and sealing washers.
- Versatile tool holder: The 1/4-inch hex socket accepts standard screwdriver bits and compatible socket spanners.
- Ideal for repetitive work: Excellent for installing large quantities of screws at a consistent depth.
Extra Information
- Suitable for Festool cordless drills, cordless percussion drills, drills and percussion drills equipped with FastFix tool reception.
- The attachment is not suitable for the Festool DR 20 or DRP 20.
- The maximum specified screw size for use in softwood is 6 x 100mm.
- The screw head can be adjusted to remain above the surface, sit flush with the surface or be countersunk into the material.
- Each adjustment notch changes the screwdriving depth by 0.1mm.
- The two replaceable stop sleeves accommodate different screw-head and washer diameters.
- The supplied PH 2 bit is suitable for compatible Phillips-head screws.
- The supplied size 8 socket wrench is intended for compatible hex-head screws.
- The correct screwdriving depth should always be tested on an offcut or inconspicuous area before beginning production work.
Pro Tips
- Test the depth setting on a sample piece manufactured from the same material before installing screws in the finished workpiece.
- Begin with a shallower setting and increase the depth one adjustment step at a time to avoid overdriving the first screw.
- Use the 23mm sleeve when working with screws fitted with larger sealing washers to prevent the sleeve from pressing against the washer edge.
- Keep the rubberised contact rings clean and free from metal swarf, grit and dried material to protect delicate surfaces.
- Allow the depth stop to control the final screw position rather than applying excessive forward pressure once the coupling disengages.
- Check the setting periodically during long production runs, particularly when changing material thickness, timber density or screw type.
- Remove the stop sleeve before reversing the drill to extract an incorrectly positioned screw.
How to Use
- Switch off the drill and remove its battery pack or disconnect it from the mains power supply.
- Select the 17mm or 23mm stop sleeve according to the screw head, sealing washer and application.
- Remove the selected sleeve from the depth-stop housing.
- Insert the required screwdriver bit or socket spanner into the 1/4-inch holder.
- Refit the selected stop sleeve securely over the holder.
- Place the depth stop onto the FastFix spindle of the compatible drill.
- Pull the release ring forward and rotate the attachment until its hexagonal pin engages with the machine&s internal hexagonal connection.
- Press the attachment fully onto the spindle and release the locking ring.
- Rotate the depth-stop housing to set the initial screwdriving depth.
- Drive a test screw into a sample piece using a straight and controlled approach.
- Turn the housing in the indicated direction to increase or decrease the screw depth, with each notch altering the setting by 0.1mm.
- Continue testing until the screw head reaches the required position.
- Proceed with the installation while maintaining steady pressure and keeping the attachment square to the surface.
- To remove a screw, take off the stop sleeve, select reverse rotation on the drill and extract the screw normally.
Features
- FastFix tool mounting: Installs directly onto the FastFix spindle of a compatible Festool drill or cordless drill.
- Adjustable housing: Rotating the housing increases or decreases the selected screwdriving depth.
- Positive adjustment stages: Each indexed step changes the driving depth by precisely 0.1mm.
- Integrated depth coupling: Disengages the driving action when the preset screw depth is reached.
- 17mm protective sleeve: Suitable for smaller screw heads and applications requiring access in tighter areas.
- 23mm protective sleeve: Provides clearance for larger heads and screws equipped with sealing washers.
- Rubberised contact ring: Provides secure contact with the workpiece while protecting sensitive finished surfaces.
- 1/4-inch hex socket: Accepts commonly available screwdriver bits and compatible hex socket accessories.
- Ball-clamp retention: Holds the fitted bit or socket spanner securely during operation.
Benefits
- Uniform screw installation: Maintains a consistent screw-head position across an entire façade, deck or installation.
- Reduced rework: Helps prevent screws from being driven too deeply or left standing at inconsistent heights.
- Protects the workpiece: The rubberised sleeve reduces slipping and helps avoid marks on coated, painted or finished surfaces.
- Faster repetitive screwdriving: Once the depth has been adjusted, multiple screws can be installed efficiently without individual depth checks.
- Quick accessory changes: The FastFix connection allows the depth stop to be installed or removed without complicated setup.
- Suitable for sealing screws: The interchangeable sleeves help control compression when working with screws fitted with gaskets or washers.
- Broad compatibility: Can be used with compatible Festool drills, cordless drills and percussion drills featuring FastFix tool reception.
Application
- Façade construction and cladding installation.
- Patio and timber deck construction.
- Driving screws fitted with sealing washers or gaskets.
- Installing Spengler screws and similar weatherproof fasteners.
- Repetitive screwdriving at a uniform preset depth.
- Driving screws flush with sensitive finished surfaces.
- Countersinking screws to a controlled depth.
- Leaving screw heads projecting by a defined amount.
Safety
- Wear suitable eye protection while drilling and screwdriving, and use hearing protection where operating conditions require it.
